Canstruction® at Canary Wharf

Making its London debut, the International Canstruction® competition comes to Canary Wharf. Held throughout the globe, Canstruction® celebrates its 20th year in 2012 with its first ever competition in Canary Wharf.

Over ten teams of professional designers, architects and engineers will battle it out to complete magnificent giant sculptures in just 12 hours and using only cans of food and imagination.

These spectacular canned sculptures will be on display for two weeks throughout Canary Wharf’s unique spaces including the Jubilee and Canada Place Shopping Malls, and the lobby of London’s iconic One Canada Square.

And the story doesn’t end there – after this unique exhibition each can of food is collected by food charity FareShare, and redistributed to local communities feeding over 6,000 people with over 30,000 nutritious meals.

A panel of experts will determine which UK entries from Britain’s world-class design companies will take on the world at the International contest in the United States in 2013.

Explore magnificent canned sculptures in the heart of East London and feed the community, as Canstruction® at Canary Wharf brings the UK’s most outstanding pioneers in contemporary architecture and design together for this unique International competition.
