King's Cross: Transformation from Grain Store to University

During the King’s Cross Focus weekend, the Granary Building will serve as a hub for activities and a starting point for the LFA Trail. The building was originally designed by Lewis Cubitt in 1851 to receive grain from the wheat fields of Lincolnshire, unloaded here from railway wagons onto canal boats for onward transport to the capital’s bakeries.

An installation by architects Stanton Williams, in collaboration with John Sturrock, will take the visitor on a visual journey through the transformation of the building into the new University of the Arts London Campus for Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, the creative heart of the King’s Cross development.
